New Delhi, December 07, 2017: India’s Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) will focus on exports from labour intensive and MSME sectors by way of increased incentives in order to increase employment opportunities, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu said on Tuesday.

Releasing the Mid-term Review of Foreign Trade Policy 2015-20 here on Tuesday, Prabhu said emphasis will be given on ‘Ease of Trading’ across borders, to export of agri-products to increase farmers’ income and enhancing partnership with other countries in providing services.

“Focus is on data driven policy, identifying new products, doubling farmers’ income, enhancing partnership with other countries in providing services,” Prabhu said.

Prabhu said exporting surplus agri-products will help increase farmer’s income while keeping prices in check; thus creating win-win situation for all.

While share in traditional products and markets will be maintained, the focus will be on new products and new markets, Prabhu said.
