Cadence presents a two-day sporting event supporting the Concern India Foundation
Bangalore, February 5, 2014 – Concern India Foundation and Cadence Design Systems, Inc. announced today that the 14thCorporate Citizenship Challenge for the Cause of Children, or 5Cs as it is popularly known, was held on February 1 and 2, 2014, at Indus International School, Sarjapur, Bangalore. This sporting event raised funds to educate and improve the lives of underprivileged children through programs supported by Concern India Foundation. 5Cs is held annually in Bangalore andDelhi. Teams from 18 companies participated in 5Cs Bangalore 2014.
Speaking about the event, Jaswinder Ahuja, corporate vice president and managing director, Cadence Design Systems (India) Pvt. Ltd., said, “Cadence strongly believes in giving back to society and our community service activities support several organizations that are involved in bettering the lives of underprivileged children. 5Cs is the flagship event of Cadence’s community service efforts. 5Cs
5Cs started in Delhi with a small volunteer group of Cadence India employees. Today, the event unites some of the best-known companies in India for a day of competitive sports. Since it began in 2000, 5Cs has raised over 
4.2 crores to help ensure a more just world for India‘s children. Prominent citizens who have supported the 5Cs in the past include ace shooter Abhinav Bindra, boxing champion Vijender Singh, Delhi’s former Chief Minister Sheila Dixit and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s wife, Mrs. Gursharan Kaur.
At 5Cs Bangalore, participating companies sent teams consisting of between 20 and 50 members each to compete in multiple sports including cricket, table tennis, badminton, basketball, soccer, a mini-marathon and throw ball. The winner’s trophy went to CISCO; Deloitte & EMC2 bagged the first runner–up and Runner up trophy respectively. – CCI Newswire
