Bangalore, June 03, 2018: NICE / NECE Ltd, the implementing agency of the prestigious BMIC Project, has recently expanded the Toll Plazas at Electronic City Interchange area (1/7) and Mysore Road Interchange area (5/7) of the Peripheral Road to cater to the substantial increase in Entry and Exit Traffic in these areas.

The 41 Kilometer Peripheral Road connects Hosur Road (Electronic City 1/7) to Tumkur Road (BIEC Junction 7/7) through Bannergatta Road (2/7), Kanakapura Road (3/7), Clover Leaf Interchange at Sompura – intersection of Link Road and starting point of Expressway – (4/7), Mysore Road (5/7) and Magadi Road (6/7) ending in Tumkur Road – NH4.

The delays caused by the queues to enter into the Peripheral Road at Electronic City Interchange and Mysore Road Interchange during peak hours and weekends has prompted NICE to take immediate action to ease the Traffic Queues at these junctions by increasing the Entry and Exit Toll Plazas.

As such, NICE / NECE Ltd has increased / 5-6 toll booths at Electronic City Junction, which primarily act as an Exit way to the vehicles exiting the Peripheral Road into Hosur Road near Electronic City Interchange thereby increasing the Entry Plazas from 8 lanes into all 12 lanes  and easing the entry point substantially in peak hours. The four lanes are made bidirectional, so as to cater to the increase in exits – if the situation arises.

In a similar manner, the entry point at Mysore Road Interchange have increased to 7 by adding 3 new booths, thereby addressing the increase in Entry and Exit Traffic in the interchange area during peak hours and weekends.

These measures have brought substantial relief to the commuters of the Peripheral Road both in terms of time and reduction in wastage of fuel.
