Mumbai, July 04, 2018: In an effort to help young Indians build wealth, 5Paisa.com, India’s only e-commerce player in financial products space, has launched the country’s largest free online school on investment, reaching over 1 million users at its launch. The new initiative – 5P School – is available both on its website 5Paisa.com and 5Paisa Mobile App.

India is the youngest country in the world with about 60% of the work force in the age group of 20-40. More than 1 million people get added to the workforce every month. As they start earning and saving the big question before them is where to invest their money so that they can protect it from inflation and save for rainy days. While fixed and term deposits are seen as safe options, they barely protect the savings from inflationary pressures and may even give negative returns over the years.

As per 5paisa.com research on investment aspirations of young Indians in over 1000 cities, the new millennial is not interested in putting their money in low return fixed deposit, real estate or in gold. They are looking at active ways to make sure that their savings are not only protected from inflation but also give them enough to meet their goals such as retirement, a rainy day such as illness, marriages etc.

Everyone knows that in the long-term stock market could give very good returns. One can also invest in stock market through mutual funds as well. However, the most important question is which stock and mutual funds to invest in?

There are many examples where people have chosen wrong stocks or have been lured by financial quacks. People lose their money while investing through tricksters or fly-by-night operators. There are many investors who start investing in F&O because they are advised by brokers who earn more brokerage through such trades. Gullible customers don’t know that this kind of leveraged trade can wipe-out their capital completely.

“This is why we have conceived 5P School. To educate the young Indians about key investment principles and making them aware about the products available in the market that can build their wealth faster,” said Prakarsh Gagdani, CEO, 5Paisa.com.

Keeping the research findings in mind, 5Paisa.com has provided with several modules for investors or even for the people who are from the non-finance background. The courses have multiple levels – from beginner to advanced – all written and developed by experts in the industry. The courses are complimented with very entertaining and easy to understand videos. The duration of the videos are in a two minutes capsule format.

The course work includes investment concepts like stocks, mutual funds, systematic investment plans, derivatives, technical analysis, and fundamental research among others. This is complemented by simple articles on the art of investing.

5Paisa.com believes, while the investment on education training may not immediately result in business or new clients, but this is an initiative to build the brand and also widen the base of the investing community. In India the percentage of investors investing in Equity, Mutual Products is perhaps least in similarly developed countries.

This is one reason, why most Indians are not able to build wealth, get returns on investments as large institutional investors, large mutual funds or high-net worth-individuals are getting. This is an initiative to help retail investors to not only understand financial literacy and investment but also to help them plan their future and make the best of their investment.
