South Korea’s, January 06, 2019: Paul Dunn, new chairman of the International Hologram Manufacturers Association

The International Hologram Manufacturers Association (IHMA), which represents the global hologram industry, has appointed a new chairman and Board.

Opsec’s Dr Paul Dunn comes in to lead the IHMA as it continues to promote the advantages of holographic technology, particularly in the authentication of products and ID documents, as well as for eye-catching designs for retail packaging and print.

The IHMA, a not-for-profit organisation, has also confirmed its Board for 2019.

As chairman, Dr Dunn heads-up a new-look leadership team which includes Diavy’s Alessio Pastorelli, Surys’ Corinne Murcia Giudicelli and Professor Seung Hyun Lee from South Korea’s Hologram Forum.

Brad Hilbert of Crown Roll Leaf will represent the Americas and ITW’s Joanne Ogden will oversee the EU & EFTA, while Demax Holograms’ Valentin Monovski will represent Eastern Europe and the FSU/CIS.

Asia will be covered by Rohit Mistry from Holographic Security Marking Systems and Umendra Gupta (ASPA).

An industry veteran with more than 30 years involvement in holography, Dr Dunn’s appointment comes as the IHMA strengthens its presence in the far east after agreement with the South Korea-based Hologram Forum to develop closer links.

He said: “The IHMA continues to see hologram growth and innovation around the world and as an organisation, remains extremely relevant and important to the industry.

“We will continue to engage our members, working closely together as partners to push holography into new areas of opportunity and growth, while supporting their interests across the globe.”

The IHMA (www.ihma.org) is made up of almost 100 of the world’s leading hologram companies. Members include the leading producers and converters of holograms for banknote security, anti-counterfeiting, brand protection, packaging, graphics and other commercial applications around the world, and actively cooperate to maintain the highest professional, security and quality standards.
