Bangalore, August 06, 2014 – Dr K Rosaiah, H.E. Governor of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu while addressing the felicitation meet organized by FKCCI in the city today stated that Andhra Pradesh had yet to catch up with Karnataka in the field of Information Technology and in-spite of repeated attempts, it was way behind Karnataka.

Karnataka’s proactive policies have taken development of Karnataka to unprecedented heights; and the state’s Information Technology Policy, BPO Policy and its Biotech Policy has gone a long way in establishing Karnataka as a hub for Information Technology, Outsourcing, Off Shoring and Biotechnology.

The Infrastructure policy of Karnataka has indeed gone a long way into establishing Karnataka as a leader in PPP projects and the SEZ policy of Karnataka has paved the way for cluster development in the State. These policies led the state to build the first Software Technology Park, Aerospace SEZ, first to introduce the private sector in education and the state is making rapid strides in establishment of a Nano Park, a Global Financial District, Knowledge City and a Manufacturing unit for Defence.

Bangalore has been ranked 1st by the leading HR companies of the world as “Best place to live and work by expatriates”. This gives an advantage to Karnataka to woo more FDIs in all sectors.

Earlier in his welcome address Mr Sampathraman, President, FKCCI stated that MSME sector needs encouragement. Initiatives such as providing credit at affordable rates should be actively pursued. This would help in the revitalization of the MSME sector.

The State Government has initiated to develop and upgrade industrial corridors and decongest Bangalore by developing township clusters. The Industry needs the support of the Offices of Dr. Rosaiah in making Karnataka the best investment destination.
