New Delhi, April 06, 2015: Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has been declared a winner to receive the prestigious ‘Golden Peacock National Quality Award’ for 2015 for their concerted efforts in building a culture of Total Quality across IGI Airport.
Speaking on the occasion DIAL CEO Mr. I Prabhakara Rao said, “DIAL has won this accolade for its commitment and focus on making excellence the way of life, in everything that we do. It highlights the best in class quality process that we have been building up at DIAL over the years, which have brought significant results and many awards & accolades.”
The Award will be presented to DIAL by His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Social Development, Government of U.A.E. at a specially organized presentation ceremony titled the “Golden Peacock Awards Night” on 20th April, 2015 in Dubai, UAE during the annual “25th World Congress on Leadership for Business Excellence & Innovation”.
The Golden Peacock Awards were founded by the Institute of Directors, India in 1991 and they are globally regarded as a benchmark of Corporate Excellence. The National Quality Award Scheme was instituted to encourage Total Quality improvements in both manufacturing and service organizations in India. These awards are presented to organizations in different sectors adjudged to have made the most significant achievement in the field of Total Quality.
This year, the Golden Peacock Awards Secretariat received over 382 responses across the various categories of Institutional Awards, including the Golden Peacock National Quality Award (GPNQA) from Corporates including SMEs, Public, Private and Government Enterprises. A total of 175 applications were short-listed after careful scrutiny for final selection through a 3-tier assessment process. The applicant scoring the highest among each of the respective Industrial Sectors, were recommended to the jury for the final selection and approval. DIAL emerged as applicant scoring the highest among all organizations of its sector – Transportation (Shipping/Ports/Aviation/Railway/Road)
