Highlights of Honda’s Environment Day:

Tapukara, June , 2015: For the 15th consecutive year, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt Ltd (HMSI) started its week long celebrations on the World Environment Day at it’sManesar (Haryana), Tapukara(Rajasthan) Narsapura(Karnataka) Factory and across all India dealership networks. In tune with this year’s theme “Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care”, Honda is celebratingEnvironment Week from 1st June -7th June’15.

Mr. Naveen Awal-Deputy General Manager, Tapukara Plant, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India flagged off the celebration with a tree plantation at the factory. This was followed by environment pledge taken by all Honda associates to stay committed towards environment protection in their work areas and day to day lives.

“Preserving the environment is top of the mind for us at Honda. As a responsible corporate, Honda announced it’s global vision of 30% CO2 reduction by 2020 and in India too, we are actively contributing to build a greener tomorrow. The same reflects in our processes, technology and plant architecture,”Mr. Keita Muramatsu, President & CEO, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India and President, Honda Motor India said at the occasion.

Hondatakes a holistic approach towards environment preservation through it’s Green Factory, Green Dealer & Green Supplier concept aiming for a Cleaner, Greener & Brighter outlook. Various employee engagement programs including in-house training, Slogan & Poster Competition, Environmental Awareness Training& Quiz, Skit Play, Awareness Banners and Mailers were organised to create a consciousness for the environment. Moreover, Hondaconstructed two Rain Water Harvesting (RWH) Ponds in the company to enrich the ground water level of the area. Customer engagement & awareness campaign is also underway on HMSI’s various online social platforms.

Furthermore, Honda in partnership with Haryana State Pollution Control Boarddistributedenvironment friendly jute and cotton bags in the area.Additionally, Honda associated with Karnataka State pollution Control Board & Govt. Schools to spread awareness.

Special initiatives were undertaken at the dealerships and society level. Free PUC check-up,sapling distribution for customers will be conducted at dealerships.More plantations and clean up drives will also be carried out at nearby public places. Honda will also be doing awareness, cleanup campaigns and rallies.
