Mumbai, June 04, 2016: Proving their mettle yet again, Swami Shradanand College from Delhi defeated Rizvi College from Mumbai in thequalifiers of the National Finals of Red Bull Campus Cricket 2016 that are currently being held at Abhimanyu Cricket Academy ground in Dehradun. The zonal champions battle dit out against each other to secure their berth in the National Finals. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Swami Shradanand College scored an unsurmountable total of 200 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Chasing the target seemed too difficult for Rizvi College as they managed to reach only 181 runs for loss of 5 wickets. Deepak Khatri was awarded the Man of the Match title for his excellent knock of a century in as little as 52 balls.
Swami Shradanand College is now among the top teams from the qualifiers who have a shot at being one of the four teams to face off in the semi-finals of Red Bull Campus Cricket 2016. Competing against the best from across the country, the National winner will represent India in the Red Bull Campus Cricket World Series Championship 2016 being held in Sri Lanka later this year.
