Tradeindia Inks Deal with DITP Thailand for e-commerce Cooperation

New Delhi, Delhi, India, Monday, April 22, 2013 — (Business Wire India) — Tradeindia.com (managed by Infocom Network Ltd.) announced today that they have signed a MOU with Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, effective April 2013, with the objective to boost Indo-Thai bilateral trade.

Tradeindia.com and the Thaitrade promotion body which operates Thaitrade.com – the official B2B marketplace of Thailand, have agreed to explore opportunities to promote and market each other through their respective platforms using various on-line and off-line marketing, advertising and promotional campaigns, including but not limited to news, newsletters, emails, events, and trade shows. These strategic promotions will help members and SMEs listed on both platforms generate more substantial business opportunities.

Commenting on the MOU, Mr. Bikky Khosla, Founder and CEO of tradeindia.com , said “With India & Thailand doing good business, our objective is to bring SMEs from both countries closer to each other. As per statistics of 2011-2012, Thailand is India’s 4th largest trading partner in the ASEAN Region. With a good manufacturing set up available in both countries the numbers are growing fast. Both countries offer fantastic opportunities for Import & Export of goods and services amongst each other, thus offering great scope for increased business amongst them in years to come.

Mr. Khosla further added “Asia and ASEAN Region contribute to about 55% of India’s total trade (2011-2012) and Thailand contributes to about 10-15% of the total trade from the ASEAN Region, this itself speaks about the potential for future trade. The collaboration shall serve as a means to enhance the already booming India- ASEAN bilateral trade relations.”

As per MOU, it has been finalized that both tradeindia.com & thaitrade.com will explore ways to facilitate business matchmaking for sellers and buyers from both countries. It has been further agreed that both platforms will work together towards developing business objectives of mutual interest through long term business partnership arrangements.
