New Delhi, October 08, 2016: The ‘IDBI Federal Life Insurance New Delhi Marathon’ will take place on February 26, 2017 and will be the first major run on Delhi’s social calendar. This edition of the IDBI Federal Life Insurance New Delhi Marathon will be a part of the National Marathon Circuit 2016-2017. Runners who complete the full marathons or half marathons organized by the team in Bangalore, Goa, Kolkata and Delhi will be awarded a unique medal for their achievement.

Renowned cricket icon, Master Blaster and Bharat Ratna awardee, Sachin Tendulkar, will be the face of the IDBI Federal Life Insurance New Delhi Marathon.

Adidas, one of the leading sports manufacturers in the world, will also come on board for this edition as the ‘Running Partner’. They will conduct training runs across NCR and make sure participants are fit and ready to run the final race.

The prize money to be won for this event is Rs. 27 Lakhs across various categories. Registrations for the IDBI Federal Life Insurance New Delhi Marathon 2017 are now open and will close on 26th January 2017. Entry fee for the Full Marathon is Rs 1400, Half Marathon is Rs 1200 and the 5K Swacch Bharat Run is Rs 600.

Honouring those who risk their lives for our protection, the Defence Forces and Police personnel will be able to register free of cost for the IDBI Federal Life Insurance New Delhi Marathon 2017. Through the 5K Swacch Bharat Run, IDBI Federal Life Insurance aims to promote the message of a clean and green India.

This marathon remains India’s first ‘inclusive’ marathon and will see differently-abled participants run alongside other marathoners. Spearheading the cause of ‘Ability from Disability’, Major D P Singh, Kargil war veteran, 3-time Limca record holder, and the first Indian blade runner will be leading a group of over 20 blade runners called The Challenging Ones (TCO) in the IDBI Federal Life Insurance New Delhi Marathon 2017.

More than 15,000 participants are likely to take part in this edition of the IDBI Federal Life Insurance New Delhi Marathon 2017 across three categories – 42.2K Full Marathon, 21.1K Half Marathon, and 5K Swacch Bharat Run.
