DLF Promenade celebrates ‘cracker free’ Diwali; Lights up 700 Diyas in Mandala design

New Delhi, October 29, 2016: DLF Promenade launched a meaningful campaign to celebrate Diwali this year bringing together the community with a cause in an innovative way. The “Light up a smile” campaign has been curated by DLF Promenade bringing on board students of the Sushant School of Design to create an artistic Mandala design using 700 diyas from the Tamana Foundation donated by DLF Promenade and its patrons at the Main Porch of the Mall on 27th Oct

The “Light up a smile” campaign, celebrates a peaceful, joyous and cracker-free Diwali. The mall patrons rejoiced thoroughly, as the -enthusiastic students from the Sushant School of Design joined hands with differently-abled children from the Tamana Foundation to support this beautiful initiative. The students – created a visual delight with the pledged diyas, lit in a beautiful ‘mandala’ form outside the mall’s front fountain lawn.

Padamashree and Padmabhushan Dr. Shayama Chona (Founder and President of Tamana Foundation), who has won many awards for her commendable contribution in the field of disabilities in India. She added, “DLF Promenade has been a great host to the Tamana Foundation this Diwali. Such events help us immensely in building the awareness we need to spread for the acceptance of the differently-abled to gain full access to and experience a normal being’s life. As they experience it, they feel happy and encouraged. The Mandala diya installation was installed by students of Sushant School of Design and lit together with differently-abled students of Tamana Foundation on 27th October 2016 to light up the spirit of the upcoming Diwali weekend.

The dangling lights are inspired by the peacock feathers to spread the Diwali charm. They have been created to represent the colours of a peacock.
