Mumbai, January 31, 2019: As a part of AIA Centennial celebrations, Tata AIA Life (Tata AIA Life) Insurance Company Limited, celebrated the milestone with a special walkathon in Mumbai at Bandra-Kurla Complex on Sunday, January 27, 2019.
Tata AIA Life, one of the fastest growing life insurance companies, celebrated AIA’s centennial milestone by contributing INR 2,000 per walkathon participant amounting to INR 10 Lakh to Clean Cook Stoves, a Tata Trust Initiative that provides smokeless stoves to rural women. The objective is to protect mothers’ health and safeguard the family’s happiness. Hong Kong based AIA holds 49% stake in the joint venture with Tata Group.

The celebration included handover of the centennial baton which is a core component of the AIA Centennial journey events across all the 18 countries in the Asia Pacific region where AIA operates. It represents a physical symbol that will connect all the journeys together as a constant and consistent element of the AIA Centennial celebrations with participation of the employees, Agents, partners and associates of AIA.
The Centennial Baton features the first ever Policy No. 0001 and carries the centennial branding. The Centennial Baton has a display at the top which shows steps, distance and battery life. The baton will now travel to the other 15 countries across the world. It has reached India from Cambodia and was handed over to the next country – Sri Lanka.
The Centennial celebrations in other countries include events like 100-hour cave expedition, 100 km hike, relay runs across countries and healthy living expos, rock concerts & music festivals. All the activities will raise funds for supporting local community causes.
