Yangon, March 30, 2020: Asia World Foundation (“AWF” or the “Foundation”), the non- profit arm of Asia World Company Ltd (“AWC”), donated 100 million Kyats to National-Level Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment of Coronavirus Disease 2019 ( COVID-19 )at Myanmar’s Ministry of Health and Sports (“MoHS”) office, Naypyitaw in the help of prevention, control, and treatment of the COVID-19 health pandemic.
AWF presented the cash donation to Dr. Myint Htwe, Union Minister of MoHS at the Ministry’s headquarters in Myanmar’s capital, Naypyitaw.
The Foundation is committed to developing the well-being of the people of Myanmar and supporting projects that cover a broad range of areas including education, disaster relief, healthcare and community development.
Mr. Htun Myint Naing, Chairman of AWC, said: “Myanmar is undergoing great challenges with the COVID-19 situation. This donation will assist in every health aspect for the people in the prevention, containment and treatment of COVID-19. The Foundation together with AWC’s group of companies will continue their respective effort to prevent and contain the spread of COVID-19 in Myanmar.”
