-EasemyGST announces Rs 15,000 per annum package to ensure GST compliance with end to end solutions for SMEs and MSMEs
-Businesses realise that the delay in filling is leading to locking of input credit refund
New Delhi, September 20, 2017 : The government has extended the date for filing of returns for GSTR-1 as the woes continue for the enterprises, especially for SMEs and MSMEs.
The Co-Founder of EasemyGST, Ashish Mittal, said, “The need of the hour is to engage ASPs to address the volume and complexity of GST filing. We have been tracking the results of GST filing for close to 1200 companies, which are using our services. The data from our platform shows that those companies using ASPs for GSTR filing, have increased their invoices’ uploads on the GSTN portal by 25% within a week of engaging with an ASP. At this pace our belief is close to 20% return filing will happen through ASPs by the end of September.
Mittal said, “Our objective is to help clients with the offline ASP/GSP platform in simple excel format uploads which the enterprises often use. Most of the enterprises failed to upload returns using the offline utility provided by government portal because of complexity of utility. With the increased use of ASPs, all these consumers will opt for offline platform. Today ASPs are providing direct integration to ERPs like; Tally, Ginesys, SAP, Navision etc. which are seamlessly integrated with ASPs providing one click filing. Since ERP enterprise users alone will capture around 30% of the market, even if the 50% of it is converted to ASP services, 20% growth is possible by end of September.” The available online tool has the bandwidth issue owing to the large number of invoices to be uploaded. Consumers do have the offline tool but no one is able to use it, he added.
ASPs interface will help enterprises and customers to easily understand the complicated provisions of GST and ensure that they are filing their returns appropriately and timely. It is important that the cloud and mobile interface developed by the ASPs facilitate the GST filing process for the businesses, Mittal opined.
Announcing the scheme for SMEs and MSMEs, Mittal, said, “We have announced Rs 15,000 per annum package to ensure GST compliance with end to end solution for the SMEs and MSMEs. The exercise should be round the year and not to panic at last moment rush. Also the timely filing would ensure that the input credit refund comes to the business cycle quickly. The delay in the filing is leading to locking of input credit refund for SMEs and MSMEs, hurting the business cycle.”
He added, “we did the GST readiness survey five months ago on the GST readiness of SMEs and MSMEs and has alarmed the industry of the non- preparedness, much earlier”.
Mittal also highlighted others problems faced by the enterprises while GST filing, such as failure of the respective companies’ CAs, owing to the volume and complexity of data. Some of the grey areas that still remain are:
Ø Submit and file options at GSTN not working seamlessly
Ø Lack of clarity on use of HSN – whether 4 digits to use or 8 digits – there is a confusion among taxpayers
Ø Summary page of GSTR 1 showing no values while all the details are updated when we review the GSTR 1 internally and vice versa
Ø Responses to the queries are very slow
Ø Lack of clarity in individuals regarding how GSP and ASP can make their compliance smoother and better
