Baxter Inaugurates New Global IT Services Center in Bangalore, Tapping into Nation’s IT Talent Pool

New Delhi, July 03, 2014 –
Baxter International Inc. today inaugurated its new Integrated Delivery Center (IDC), a global IT shared services center, in Bangalore to deliver Baxter’s global enterprise IT needs.

The IDC facility is located at Prestige Shantiniketan in Whitefield Bangalore where the 2,500 square feet facility currently houses 150 staff who will develop and deploy enterprise wide IT solutions that support critical operations from HR to Manufacturing, Finance, Quality Compliance, Legal and other functions within the organization. This is expected to to improve operational efficiencies, implement cost saving processes and models, and provide real time information to support business decision and compliance. With the center’s proximity to major IT solutions providers, IDC will be able to leverage synergies with Baxter’s existing vendors.

The company had been mostly employing outsourced IT professionals and contractors in India in recent years and will be consolidating and expanding its in-house IT workforce with this new center. This will result in the creation of 200 positions over the next 6 months.Baxter has been operating in India for over 17 years and its nation-wide footprint includes commercial facilities and five manufacturing facilities. In February, Baxter announced a collaboration with Syngene establishing the Baxter Global Research Center at Syngene, in Bangalore.
