Godrej Appliances is shaping the future of appliances industry through innovation under the leadership of Mr. Kamal Nandi
New Delhi, December 29, 2015: The Consumer Electronics and Appliances Manufacturers Association (CEAMA) conferred one of its highest honours, ‘Man of Appliances’ award for 2015 upon Mr. Kamal Nandi, Business Head & Executive Vice President, Godrej Appliances. The award was in recognition of his significant contribution to the Indian Appliances industry. The award was presented at CEAMA’s 36th Annual Function, held on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at India Habitat Centre by Shri J S Deepak, Secretary – Department of Electronics & Information Technology, Govt of India.
Mr. Kamal Nandi’s journey in Godrej Appliances has been exemplary. He joined the company in 1997 with a regional responsibility and since then, he has grown from strength to strength within the organization. He took over as Vice President, with the responsibility of Sales, Marketing and Product Development in the year 2006 with a mission to rejuvenate brand Godrej as a vibrant, youthful and contemporary brand in the Appliances space .His extensive knowledge of the market and profound understanding of industry dynamics, and his entrepreneurial spirit, sharp acumen, strategic and coherent approach helped him catapult the organization to its current stature.
Under his aegis, both the manufacturing units of Godrej Appliances’ – in Shirwal and Mohali were awarded the coveted Platinum Green Co certification by CII and became the first manufacturing units in the country to be so honoured. He has given the organization a renewed focus towards energy efficient and green products and under his leadership, Godrej Appliances has successfully launched a range of highly energy efficient and 100% green Refrigerators and Air Conditioners, which led to recognition from Government of India, Ministry of Power in the form of National Energy Conservation Award in Refrigerator sector in 2009, 2010 & 2014.
Mr. Nandi is an eminent industry spokesperson. He is the Chairman of Home Appliance Industry Council of CEAMA, actively involved & working closely with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Govt of India, on behalf of the Home Appliances industry for successful implementation of the Star labeling program.
