According to him, recognition showcases the entrepreneur to various stakeholders such as potential investors, customers, bankers, vendors and employees.
The CII-SR Regional Emerging Entrepreneur Awards in association with The Hindu Business Line aims to nurture, cherish and recognise first-generation entrepreneurs from the South, especially those who have exhibited compelling potential to scale up to the national and global level.
The CII-SR awards, in association with The Hindu Business Line, now in its fourth year, has drawn good response from entrepreneurs.
The nomination for the awards for 2013 has commenced and closes on January 31, 2014.

The awards are to recognise first-generation entrepreneurs from the southern States who are leading companies with an annual turnover of over Rs 5 crore and who have been in business for three to 10 years.
According to K. Venugopal, co-chair, CII-SR sub-committee on Entrepreneurship, and Director, Kasturi & Sons Ltd, publishers of Business Line, the entrepreneurship ecosystem is extremely encouraging and is not just confined to the main cities.
Road shows for the awards have been planned in a number of tier-II cities.
The awards process is highly robust with BCG as the knowledge partner and Grant Thornton responsible for due diligence.
The finalists will be selected by a jury of eminent persons and will participate in an interactive workshop conducted by BCG.
The awards are scheduled to be given away at a function in Chennai in March.Business Line
