Bengaluru, May 07, 2016: Often, students enter management programs with the vision solely fixed on getting a good job at the end of it all. While there is obviously a lot more to learn, achieve and experience in a MBA program, I will not delve on those aspects. Rather, I would like to highlight how Bennett University will try to make the opportunity as diverse as possible for its graduates when they pass out.
There is a kind of a three-layered opportunity system that we are targeting at Bennett University:
1. One, all the students who get into the Bennett program will have the opportunity to explore an entrepreneurial venture. We have the Centre for Entrepreneurship, which will support and guide them through the Hatchery and incubation centre. So the students with a yearning to put their plans in action in a controlled environment with the best minds to guide them will have a tremendous opportunity available to them.
2. After that, we will have a full-fledged, conventional placement process, whereby the best of companies from across the country would come over to offer various opportunities for the students.
3. After that, the third layer is the job guarantee that we are offering to the inaugural MBA batch.
In effect, we plan to go well beyond the conventional mantra of conventional B-schools that say they “will offer placement assistance”.
I would discuss the job guarantee in a little more detail, given that it is the most unique aspect of our MBA Program. Most of the time, the biggest concern a prospective MBA student has is the job uncertainty at the end of the 2 year period. Besides causing anxiety, what it also does is that it distracts the student from the immense learning and networking that is on offer. This ends up making the whole experience a bit sub-optimal. Realising this, we set out to remove the source of the anxiety, thus helping the student makes the most of what promises to be a world-class management education. The Times Group has been a top recruiter at most of the leading business schools in India. The positioning of the Time Job Guarantee is two way – our students come in with the assurance that they will get to work with India’s most dynamic media groups and Times Group itself reaffirms faith in Bennett University that it will produce graduates who belong in such a marquee business group.
The overarching objective of all this is that a university first needs to create an absolute learning environment where the student will be able to realise there fullest potential. And while we’re in the process of creating the finest future business leaders, our endeavour will be to create highly adaptable students. So, adaptability is a very important element from all the corporates or any career that you’d choose. Even if you want to become an entrepreneur, you need to be adaptable. If you as a student endeavour to achieve this adaptability, we as a university also assure you that our opportunity creation process will also be adaptable enough to help you achieve your ambition.
