DHL eCommerce names Monteiro Malcolm as CEO for Asia Pacific

SINGAPORE, JUNE 13, 2014: DHL eCommerce, part of the newly re-named global division Post – eCommerce – Parcel (PeP) formerly known as the Deutsche Post MAIL division,has named Malcolm Monteiro as CEOAsia Pacific, DHL eCommerce.

Malcolm succeedsPatrick Martin, who led Global Mail Asia Pacific since 2009. Patrick becomes the new Senior Vice President, Markets andProducts, DHL eCommerce atcorporate headquarters in Bonn, Germany.

In May, Deutsche Post DHL re-named the Global Mail unit to DHL eCommerce.The business unit will focus more efficiently on e-commerce services – both cross-border and domestic – in Asia Pacific as well as in the Americas. Group-wide,Deutsche Post DHL aims to be the preferred global provider of e-commerce related services including e-fulfillment and e-facilitation.
Malcolm, formerly Managing Director of Blue Dart Express and CEO of DHL Express South Asia since 2006, will join the DHL eCommerce Management Board and be responsible for overseeing and steering the development of DHL eCommerce as the global e-commerce enabler in Asia Pacific.

Malcolm will continue to oversee Blue Dart following the transfer of responsibility for Blue Dart from DHL Express to Post – eCommerce – Parcel. He will continue to represent Deutsche Post DHL on the Blue Dart Board of Directors.

No stranger to growing market share, Malcolm was key to the development of the South Asia (including India) development strategy during his tenure with DHL Express South Asia Area Office and Blue Dart Domestic Express unit. Prior to joining Blue Dart Express in 1989 as Vice-President, Operations, Malcolm was involved in manufacturing and held a number of senior management roles at Blue Dart in IT, Sales & Services before serving as Chief Operating Officer from 2001 to 2005.

Malcolm obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai in 1975 and completed his Post Graduate Degree in Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, in 1977. CCI Newswire
