- DHL Freight consolidates cross dock operations in West Denmark in new facility
- Strategically located 5,700 square-meter building improves service quality and operational efficiency
Bonn, June 25, 2014: DHL Freight, one of the leading providers of road freight services in Europe, has moved its operations in the Western part of Denmark to a brand new terminal in Taulov, near Kolding. The facility was inaugurated on June 1, has a floor space of 5,700 square meters and is located in proximity to the logistically important highways E20 and E45.
“We decided to consolidate our three cross dock operations in Skanderborg, Padborg and Esbjerg early in 2012. The new state-of-the-art terminal will not just benefit us by reducing complexity and costs. Its excellent access to Denmark’s most important trade lanes will also improve efficiency and service quality for our customers,” said Ole Mørk, Head of DHL Freight Denmark.
The new terminal is located in the industrial area of Taulov. It is built on a total area of 38,000 square meters with potential for further expansion. The logistics facility is equipped with 42 docks, enabling DHL Freight to cover all their LTL pick-ups and deliveries across the Western part of Denmark and also handles the full and part load domestic business.
Besides the new facility in Taulov, DHL Freight also operates other facilities in Denmark with a total of 12,000 square meters, located in Padborg, Aalborg and Brøndby. The road freight provider operates a fleet of 500 vehicles in Denmark and serves mainly companies from the Energy, Engineering & Manufacturing, Life Science & Healthcare and Technology sectors.
