California, November 17, 2017: Automatic voice translation technology “Tywi” swept into 2nd place in the famous TAUS Game-Changers “Invaders” competition for innovations and disruptive technologies.
Female inventor, Sue Reager, president of Translate Your World, whose previous inventions are licensed by Cisco Systems, Intel, and other telecommunication companies, was honored with 2nd place in the Game-Changers Invaders competition by TAUS , the leading organization for language and translation technologies. Her newest software invention, called “Tywi”, is the first all-encompassing speech translation system that translates what people say in real-time as they speak simultaneously into dozens of languages as both subtitles and computer voice.
Compatible with almost all modern technologies, Tywi by Translate Your World brings the best of breed in language technologies to business consumers while creating real-time speech translation for conferences, online meetings, education, telephone call centers, and tech support. One agent serves customers in 78 languages, one instructor teaches in 35 languages, and online events by any web conferencing software are instantly subtitled and translated as computer voice. And finally, through Tywi, automatic captions and braille are generated for the Deaf and Deaf-Blind.
The software is enhanced by another of Reager’s inventions, the Tywi Context Engine, available through the Tywi APIs, that adds AI (Artificial Intelligence) to the translation process that creates results that are more culturally appropriate. The Tywi Context Engine repairs certain important gender mistranslation, vocabulary terminology, and modes of address by providing context to the translation engines.
“I am truly proud and honored to place second in this competition,” says Reager. “After 10 years of development, bootstrapping with revenue generated through alpha and beta use of our software, then now to be recognized for innovation – especially as a disruptive technology – by the greatest experts in the field is exhilarating. The companies that I admire most were in the room and in the overall competition. The breakthroughs revealed were awe-inspiring, ranging from the giants Amazon, Microsoft, Google, SDL, and Baidu to brilliant young companies like first place winners Boffin and Unbabel, specializing in video translation.”
During the competition, Reager also announced her company’s latest invention, the Tywi Secure Web Microphone. The microphone is a software that attaches to any webpage and picks up the speaking voice without downloads or installation. “The Tywi Secure Web Microphone is the highest security microphone on the Internet,” says Reager. “It assures that when people speak into the Tywi software in any language, their words remain confidential, private, and secure.”
“Today’s language technologies are exploding,” Reager continues. “Growth in this sector is expected to be at 24% annual growth rate. Our software is smack in the middle of the future of communication. Our own pipeline boggles the imagination being comprised of the Global 500 that have all been suffering from language issues. We are now incorporating the new, groundbreaking style of automatic translation called ‘Neural Machine Translation’ that is just barely beginning to become available. Tywi often has access to these new technologies before the general public. Neural Machine Translation increases accuracy and fluidity of automation beyond what was possible in the past, and it will bring MT (machine translation) into the realm of being truly usable by businesses worldwide. Due to the high level of accuracy achieved now by all language technologies from speech recognition to text translation to text-to-speech software, the year 2018 will be game-changing for global communication.”
“The TAUS organization is the true leader in this arena,” she summarizes. “Industry innovators all work together under the TAUS umbrella. TAUS guides the industry through the sharing of knowledge, metrics, and data while building the quality controls to which we all adhere. This cohesion of leadership controls growth and coordinates progress across language technologies to ensure that the end results of all of our efforts can be assimilated seamlessly into the global marketplace.”
