The Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME) has raised concerns that the manufacturing sector is not growing because of the burden of corruption on small businesses.

FISME has indicated that the MSMEs of India are fully supportive of the nationwide stir caused by the Anna’s movement. FISMI in its official statement mentioned, that they have a vision of a corruption free India, to realize, towards which MSMEs will always work for. FISMI has appealed to the government, to give highest priority to reforms beginning with enactment of a strong Lokpal Act.

The Jan Lokpal bill prepared by ‘civil society’ should have been viewed by the Governments and the Political parties as a sterling example of empowerment of the people and a way forward for the future for our maturing democracy. FISME is the largest grass root organization of 730 associations spread all over India and having collective membership of over 1 million SMEs.
