In an effort to encourage the bright students, belonging to the engineering and management disciplines of the State, for working out original business plans and to instill the basics of entrepreneurial abilities, FKCCI started the programme Manthan in 2009.

It was decided to name this initiative as “MANTHAN” since it involves churning of the young and bright minds to bring out nectar like project plans.

MANTHAN is an unique opportunity for the Management and Engineering Colleges to work closely with the Industry and corporate sectors. The meritorious students, through this programme, get an opportunity to share their academic expertise with the industry and corporate world, thereby enhancing their career prospects and their entrepreneurial capabilities.

In Manthan 2012, special focus is being given to those innovative projects that would lead to commercial scale of operation. The three best plans are shortlisted by a MANTHAN jury comprising of eminent personalities in the field, based on review of business plans followed by presentations by the students.

Apart from the cash prize of Rs.100,000 /- distributed between the 3 winners, the winners will gain mileage from exposure to the corporate and the massive publicity generated by FKCCI regarding this event.

The success of this programme can be seen from the fact that this year we received the highest 33 plans.

Manthan 2012 will be held on Saturday, the 14 April 2012, at 3.00 PM at Hotel Le Meridien, Bangalore. This year, FKCCI is honoured to have Dr M. Veerappa Moily, Hon’ble Union Minister for Corporate Affairs, as the Chief Guest. FKCCI is glad that Mr Subroto Bagchi, Chairman, Mindtree Limited will be delivering the Keynote Address.
