Flying Officer Bhawana Kanth- IAF’s first batch of female fighter pilots

New Delhi, January 19, 2018: Supported by parents, BhawanaKanth scripted IAF history by becoming a first female fighter pilot. She flew Pilatus PC-7 Mk II ac and Kiran ac before being commissioned into the fighter stream in June, 2016 as one of the first batch of three women officers who were selected for training as fighter pilots. Having completed one semester of training on the Hawk Advanced Jet Trainer, she is currently in the final stages of the applied phase of training. She will be placed as the front line fighter squadron of the IAF shortly.
