New Delhi, April 20, 2016: Online Masters of Science in Computer Science (OMSCS), the much acclaimed online Master’s course from GeorgiaTech, has been launched in India. DrZviGalil, Dean College of Computing, GeorgiaTech, on the sidelines of an event here in Delhi, said that discussions were underway for an association with Bennett University, wherein students undertaking online courses from Georgia Tech will receive on ground support from Bennett University.

The Online Masters in Computer Science Program (OMS-CS) was started in the year 2013, in partnership with Udacity and AT&T. President Obama, at a recent event, held the programme as an example of the kind of innovation needed by their education system to address the rising costs of higher education.

Speaking on the association, Dr Zvi Galil, Dean College of Computing, GeorgiaTech said, “India is a very important hub of students aspiring for higher studies. It is a first of many other important initiatives which are planned for the Indian subcontinent and we are hopeful that this association with Bennett University will be a successful one. We are confident that the students will be greatly benefitted by this unique combination of our online course coupled with on ground support from Bennett University.”

Dr Yaj Medury, Vice-Chancellor, Bennett University, said “GeorgiaTech is one of the leaders in the online education sector and we are delighted to be considered for an association with them for their OMSCS course. It has been our constant endeavour to bring the best to our stakeholders and we believe this association will help students get desired exposure in one of the best of online courses available”

This is the second in the line of such associations for Bennett University, the first being with edX under which edX will be the preferred worldwide provider of massive open online courses (‘MOOCs’) to Bennett University. Both Dr Galil and Dr Medury plan to showcase the OMSCS programme as the ideal kind of online education that one needs to look up to.
