PM inaugurates National Conference of Dalit Entrepreneurs
New Delhi, December 30, 2015: The Prime Minister has said that financial inclusion is at the core of the Government’s focus, which is to create job creators, not job seekers. Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana and Venture Capital Fund scheme have been started to encourage first generation Entrepreneurs. He was addressing the National Conference of Dalit Entrepreneurs here today.
Addressing the national conference of SC & ST entrepreneurs Shri Thaawar Chand Gehlot, Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, said that the Government has set a target to provide skill development training to over 94,000 SC & ST person during current year. He said that 250 Mahila Safai Karamcharis have been trained as commercial motor drivers and 90 of them have been provided jobs. Shri Gehlot said that Government is committed to totally eradicate manual scavenging, 189 identified manual scavengers have been provided one time cash assistance of Rs. 4000 to each for rehabilitation and skill development training. He expressed the hope that National Conference of SC/ST Entrepreneurs will discuss the challenges before the entrepreneurs and encourage more of SC & ST to actively participate in economic development activities.
In order to encourage entrepreneurship among SC & ST youth, the Government has drawn ambitious scheme to provide financial support in the form of credit.
