Bangalore November 16, 2013: A high power Delegation of FKCCI led by Mr.R.Shivakumar, President, Mr.S.Sampathraman, Sr. Vice-President, Mr.Tallam R. Dwarakanath, Vice-President and Mr.Sudarshan T.N., Secretary General, met the Hon’ble Chief Minister on 16th November, 2013 at his Office.
The delegation requested the Chief Minister to participate in the proposed India-Japan Global Partnership Summit – IJGPS 2013 to be held at Noida, New Delhi, during December 2013, inviting industrialists from Japan to invest in Karnataka. It was also requested to him to lead the business delegation of Karnataka in association with FKCCI to tap the opportunities for fresh investments in the State. Chief Minister was informed that many investments are coming from Japan and there is dilution of investments to China. India is considered the favourite destination under the current economic scenario and IJGPS 2013 will be an ideal platform to boost the industrial development of the State. The Delegation appraised about the participation of 19 States in India in the proposed India-Japan Summit and Karnataka should participate in this meet which will allow the development of industries particularly MSME and SME sectors.
It was also requested to re-consider the Federations Memorandum for the reduction of VAT as sufficient collection of tax is made exceeding the targets. Chief Minister assured the delegation that the reduction in the taxes will be considered during the FY 2014-15 positively.
The delegation requested the Chief Minister to nominate FKCCI on the Boards of Government as it will facilitate highlighting the problems of the trade and industry resulting in timely and appropriate measures in solving the problems. This was the practice followed by earlier Governments and needs to be continued by the new Government. The Chief Minister assured the Delegation that the nomination to the Boards will be considered favourably.
