HDFC, BHEL surge over 2% in morning session

Chennai December 18, 2013: HDFC was the top gainer on the BSE in morning trade on Wednesday. At 10.55 a.m. it was quoting at Rs 800.50 as against Rs 778.30 at close on Tuesday. This represented a gain of 2.85 per cent.

Core sector stock BHEL was among the top gainers. It was trading at Rs 158.50 on the BSE as against its previous close of Rs 154.45, representing a gain of 2.62 per cent.

Tata Power sustained its firm run to keep its gains above 2 per cent during the morning session. At 10.55 a.m. it held gains of 2.16 per cent to quote at Rs 89.75 as against its overnight close of Rs 87.85.

Also in the pack of top gainers was Bajaj Auto that held gains of 2.16 per cent to quote at Rs 1,907.05 as against its overnight close of Rs 1,866.70.

ONGC flared up 1.78 per cent in the morning session to quote at Rs 279.60 as against Rs 274.70 at close yesterday.The Hindu Business Line
