Bengaluru, March 20, 2016: Ritesh Goyal, 29, Chairman of GIBS Business School, was recently awarded a prestigious award ‘Vishisht Naagrik Sammaan’ for being the youngest chairman of an educational institution – GIBS Business School, Bangalore instituted by Parivartan Prabha. This young edupreneur is a visionary & believes in taking education to greater heights in terms of methodologies, approaches & creating a better system to create productive scholars in the country.
As a 22 year old who stepped into Bangalore for the first time in 2007, Mr. Goyal was an aspiring MBA student. Little did he know within the next seven years, he would own an MBA school that would change the course of management education for the better in the country.
Beginning his career in an airlines career training company, he always had his entrepreneurial dreams & spirits high. Further to a short stint in that organization, he founded Pathfinders (P) Ltd., which created a new wave in promoting education in Bangalore. In no time, he along with his brothers who were the think tanks & the promoters, ventured into the education industry by co –owning a couple of well –known & popular educational institutions in Bangalore. By 2011, he had begun creating his blueprint of his dream project of an MBA institution.
Mr. Goyal then founded the Global Institute of Business Studies (GIBS) in 2015 which rightfully is that platform with which he envisions to set groundbreaking approaches to scale the level of higher education. Having been seasoned in this industry prior to founding GIBS, Mr. Goyal was firm on working on two aspects – the way the management perceives the growth & its active contribution, and experiential learning & real time exposure to the aspiring graduates.
He reckons being a chairperson of this institution, it’s not just enough to look into the business aspects like growth & visibility of the institution, but he contributes & invests enough time with the aspiring graduates & faculty to ensure the quality is delivered. He also has initiated innovative panels at the Bschool such as Thought Leadership & Experiential Learning & Placement Advisory Board. They encourage entrepreneurs & corporate professionals to be a part of such boards to interact & positively influence such young minds.
