>With the intention to help the SMEs of Faridabad find a solution to their complaints with clients and consumers, the Faridabad Small Industries Association (FSIA) has set up the Integrated Association of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (IamSME). “SMEs are usually not equipped to handle consumer complaints, be it pursuing giant clients or handling micro complaints. This partnership will help them save time, effort and money,” says Rajiv Chawla, president, FSIA.

The MoU is offering a discounted package for IamSME members. To avail this service FSIA members need to make a one-time payment of Rs 4,000 for a two year cover. There are around 1,800 members in FSIA which make a bulk payment of around Rs 7,20,000 at one go to resolve complaints. SMEs are occupied with developing the firm and hence setting up customer care centres that pursues these cases takes a beating because of the resources it requires. SMEs find it difficult to meet the right person or authority who could solve their complaints. As the process is lengthy, they generally fail to follow up.

Expecting the initiative to help members, Chawla said, “Most of the complaints received are in automobiles, insurance, telecom and banking. While telecom complaints take between 10 and 15 days, insurance complaints could take as many as 25-45 days.” “IamSME members can file the complaint over the phone or through the website www.akosha.com.
