Twitter special I Day emoji added new colours to the 70th Independence Day 

New Delhi, August 18, 2016: India entered its 70th year of Independence yesterday amidst wishes flowing in from all parts of the world. Indians took to Twitter to express the love for their country, customised Twitter emoji added to the celebrations. The tri-colour emoji featuring the map of India, went live a day prior to the Independence Day, i.e. 14th August 2016 at 6:30 PM IST is available till 6:30 AM, 17th August 2016. Prime Minister Mr.Modi (@narendramodi) utilised the emoji a number of times through the day to wish his fellow country men.

Indians across the world participated in Independence Day conversations by using the hashtags #India #इंडिया #India At 69 #भारत #India Independence Day when composing their Tweets. Personalities across fraternities including politics, entertainment and sports, used the emoji and joined in the celebrations on Twitter. & TV (@ANDTVOfficial) presented a beautiful depiction of the emoji with children from their popular singing reality show Voice India Kids singing the national anthem. New York City’s Chief Digital Officer (@Sree) who was in the city for a digital media tour with Twitter also loved the emoji’s.
