Pune – The US Commercial Service in association with Indo-American Chamber of Commerce has set-up the first American Business Corner in Maharashtra in Pune.

Inaugurated today by the US Consul General in Mumbai Thomas Vajda, the American Business Corner will connect Pune-based companies with U.S. companies interested in doing business together.

As a platform where businesses can access information and meet with each other, it will promote greater trade and investment between the United States and India.

Vajda said that after their meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Obama came out with the ‘Chalein Sath Sath’ vision statement. “This has been seen positively not only by the US Government but also by private companies in US,” he said.

The Indo-Us bilateral trade – currently at $ 100 billion – is expected to rise five fold in the next few years. The American Business Corner is an extension of the consulate and will facilitate and promote greater cooperation for trade and investment between two countries.

There are now 14 American Business Corner offices in India of which three are in the western region. Business Line
