Japan wishes to start high-speed train in Karnataka 32 foreign companies interested in investment in state

Japaneses Construction Company has shown interest in starting high-speed train, popularly known as Bullet train, in Karnataka. The estimates cost for the [project will be Rs 200 crore per kilometer and initially two routes – Bengaluru anglore to Mysore and Bengaluru to Hubli – will be considered for implementation.

Reveling this at the press briefing at the end of the first day of GIM 2012, Large and Medium Industries Minister, Mr. Mrugesh Nirani, said this would be world bank assisted project. Detailed project report for the project report would be ready by December this year.

In response to a question, Mr. Nirani said 32 foreign companies have shown interest in investment in the state. He said a detailed note giving details of all MOU, with the projects, their locations, companies wishing to invest, project cost and time span would be made available.
