“Karnataka Offers Investment Opportunities to Prospective Investors of Hyderabad” – R V Deshpande

Hyderabad, October 28 2016: Government of Karnataka & CII organized its Hyderabad Road show of Make in India – Karnataka, here today. “Make In India” initiative was launched globally in September 2014 by Government of India with focus on invigorating the country’s manufacturing sector. This initiative of the Government has also made tremendous impact on the investment climate of the country. The ‘Make In India’ programme converges multiple instruments to re-energize the sector and also covers infrastructure and services sectors that can create employment and add to the manufacturing effort. Government of Karnataka in association with DIPP, Govt of India and CII is organizing ‘Make in India’ Conference on 13th& 14th February, 2017 in Bengaluru.

Mr. R. V. Deshpande, Minister for Large and Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development, Government of Karnataka, led a high level delegation along with the senior Govt officials to Hyderabad to attract investments into Karnataka in various sectors. The delegation had B2G Meetings on 20th and 21st with many companies covering various sectors. Some of the companies are – Astra Microwave Products Ltd., Pennar Industries Ltd., SMS Pharamceuticals Ltd., Mishra Dhatu Nigam Ltd., Malaxmi Group, Vijayanagar Sugar Private Limited, Voith Turbo Pvt Ltd, IJM (India) Infrastructure Ltd., Bharath Biotech, Powermech Projects ltd., Shanghai Electric Machinery ltd., Ramsay Lab, Coromandel International ltd., Rainbows Tech, Puzzolana Group, Grama Bazaaar, Bharath Dynamics ltd., Ramky Group Jaypee Group, besides many others. During this B2G meetings Karnataka received investments intentions to the extent of Rs.3000 Crs. “There is an increasing interest among various companies in Hyderabad to consider expansion plans in the State of Karnataka”, he said.

During meetings the Minister assured the companies with all the required support for implementation of projects in the State and invited them to participate in the forthcoming Make in India event in the state. The Minister also talked about the forthcoming major events in the state, which are – 14-15 November 2016: Women Enterprises Think-big 2016 Summit; 7th, 8th& 9th January, 2017: PravasiBharatiya Divas 2017; 13-14 February 2017: Make in India Conference 2017. During the Roadshow, the Minister outlined potential for investments in various sectors viz., manufacturing including automobile, aerospace, tourism, infrastructure, IT / BT, Tourism etc.

Mr. D V Prasad, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Karnataka, in his address emphasised on the State Government’s initiatives on ‘Ease of Doing Business’ initiatives that raised confidence among the interested investors. “This has helped to raise confidence among the interested investors”, he said.

Mr. Gaurav Gupta, IAS, Commissioner for Industrial Development, Government of Karnataka, made a detailed presentation during the Roadshow on various investment opportunities in various sectors in Karnataka, focussing on the sectors of manufacturing, aerospace, infrastructure, IT / BT and tourism.

Mr. Priyank Kharge, Minister for IT & BT, Science & Technology and Tourism, Government of Karnataka, Smt. K. Ratna Prabha, I.A.S, Additional Chief Secretary to Government of Karnataka, Smt. Latha Krishna Rao. I.A.S, Additional Chief Secretary to Government and Development Commission, Mr. P.Ravi Kumar, I.A.S. Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Energy Department and other senior Officers of Government of Karnataka and CII were present during the road show.
