Bhubaneshwar, Jan 14, 2015: Applications are currently open for KIIT School of Management’s (KSOM) top-ranked MBA program for the batch of 2015-17 (21st batch). The application forms are available online and can be downloaded as well.
The NAAC ‘A’ accredited KSOM, Bhubaneswar has been consistently ranked as one of the top institutes in India. It was rated the 24th best B-school across India, as per NHRDN – People Matters ranking, May 2013; C fore – HT ranks KSOM as 28th best in India among self-financing institutes.
The latest batch, which will begin the session in June 2015, will benefit from one of the best students to full-time faculty ratio (10:1), and a faculty where close to 60% holds PhD and 30% are from IIMs and XLRI. Several industry partnerships, including those with Dassault Systemes, Mahindra Satyam, SAP and Axis Bank, SHRM, and NHRD, give the program a distinctive edge.
The institute Director, Dr. Anil Bajpai, who himself is an IISc Bangalore and IIM Ahmadabad alumnus, stresses that KSOM is unique as they stress “a broad-based management education where every student can pursue electives from areas other than his chosen fields. In our considered view, this would lead to better rounded managers.”
Started in 1993, KSOM, Bhubaneswar has over 3000 alumni making a mark for themselves across diverse fields. In 2014, KSOM 2008 alumnus, Sourya Dash, was awarded the prestigious ‘Top 25 Young HR Leaders Award’ by People Matters and DDI. Alumnus Aparajita Panda won the celebrated ‘Mrs. India North America 2014’ award.
The placement season for the 2012-14 batch was elevated by a strong response from the business community. A total of 74 recruiters visited the campus, which resulted in an impressive number of offers. The highest salary offered was Rs 7.53 lakhs and the average salary was Rs 4.2 lakhs. This represented a marked improvement from the already impressive placement records of previous years.
According to Prof Saroj Routray, Chairperson Admissions, “Unlike top B-Schools, KSOM students form a healthy mix, without having a clear predominance of Engineers. There is good number of students from management, commerce, arts, and humanities, among other fields, and we hope to continue this trend.”
To be eligible, an applicant has to have a Bachelors degree or equivalent (10+2+3) from a recognised university with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Students in the final year of graduation can also apply. KSOM will accept CAT 2014, XAT 2015, GMAT, CMAT and MAT scores for admissions. They are also one the very few Management schools in the country to have their own national level entrance test called KIITEE-Management, being held on 28th of January 2015.
