Mumbai to hold South Asia’s largest Tradeshow for the Maritime & Logistics ecosystem

Mumbai, July 24, 2017 : The business opportunities in all segments of maritime and logistics sector is going to be laid open at the three day long international exhibition and conference of the Maritime Nation India (MNI) 2017 beginning on September 14, 2017.

The Second Edition of South Asia’s largest Trade show for the Maritime & Logistics ecosystem is being held at the International Exhibition and Convention Center, Vashi, Navi Mumbai from 14-16 September 2017.

According to Subhasis Ghosh, Director of Maritime World Services, the theme of the trade show, resonates with this year’s IMO World Maritime Day (WMD) theme, ‘Connecting Ships, Ports and People” and the Maritime Nation India initiative has received compliments from the IMO and the logo of the WMD.

In a release here, Mr. Ghosh said progress on cargo movement on INSTC would be discussed on September 16, 2017 on the final day of the three- day Maritime Nation India 2017 Trade show.

The second edition expects over 100 exhibitors and 5000 participants from over 20 countries. The maiden 2016 edition garnered participation of 2000 industry professionals and 40 exhibitors from 10 countries.

The trade show, first of its kind, would have 7 conferences on key segments of maritime ecosystem – Trade Lanes & Shipping, Maritime Infrastructure & Multi-modal Connectivity, Shipbuilding & Ship Repair, Finance & Investment, Automation & Training, Cruise & Lighthouse Tourism, which will bring together industry stakeholders – decision makers, senior government officials, and business leaders, on a single platform for exchange of ideas on the emerging maritime and logistics sector.

Maritime Nation India 2017, received a letter of appreciation from Mr. Devendra Fadnavis, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra in which he expressed his confidence that…”the event will significantly contribute in projecting the opportunities of investment and collaboration among the exporters, importers and the maritime and logistics ecosystem in India, and I wish this International Exhibition and conference all success.”

The trade show had earlier received a letter from Mr. Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport, Highways and Shipping of India for his participation at the grand event. The Union Railway Minister Mr. Suresh Prabhu too sent his communiqué to the organizers praising their efforts to showcase India’s achievements in the area of shipping and maritime industry.

Mr. Ghosh said the Second edition of Maritime Nation India (MNI) 2017 has received support from several industry associations from India and abroad including the Indian Merchants Chamber (IMC); Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (MACCIA); Brihanmumbai Custom House Agents’ Association (BCHAA); Association of Multi modal Transport of India (AMTOI); Shipbuilders & Ship Repairers Association (SSA)—UK.
