Mumbai, November 04, 2015: National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), today organized a ‘Walkathon’ to mark the ‘Vigilance Awareness Week.’The purpose of the ‘Walkathon’ was to create awareness on Vigilance amongst public including staffs of other financial institutions in Bandra Kurla Complex.
Over 300 employees of NABARD with placards having different slogans on Preventive Vigilance participated in this ‘Walkathon’. The ‘Walkathon’ started from NABARD’s head office at Bandra – Kurla Complex and took a round of BKC. The Walkathon was flagged off by Shri HR Dave, Deputy Managing Director, NABARD.
NABARD has been observing the ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’ from 26th to 31st October, 2015 in line with the Central Vigilance Commission’s directives. The theme for Vigilance Awareness week has been ‘Preventive Vigilance as a tool for Good Governance.’
As part of this week-long programme, NABARD conducted sensitization programmes for students of professional colleges and senior secondary schools. The aim of these programmes was to orient the participants about the matters related to vigilance and preparing them for becoming upright citizens of the nation.
Dr Harsh Kumar Bhanwala, Chairman of NABARD administered the pledge to the senior officials who then administered it to all the staff members. Various activities such as Video Conference on Tendering Process & Vigilance Related Issues, Workshop on Vigilance Matters were organized at the Head Office and for Regional Offices. A Speech Competition for all staff on the subject ‘Preventive Vigilance as a Tool of Good Governance’ was conducted. Shri Keshav Kumar, Joint Director, CBI, Mumbai and Dr. JM Vyas, Director General, Gujarat Forensic Science University delivered a talk on ‘Forensic Investigation/Audit and its role in Preventive Vigilance.
