New Delhi, December 28, 2015:The Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy has said that National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) is the implementing agency for skill development schemes of various Ministries/Departments like Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), Udaan, National Urban Livelihood Mission. Under PMKVY, there is a budget of Rs. 1000 crore for the current financial year i.e. 2015-16. The funds under PMKVY are to be utilized through NSDC which is the implementing agency for the scheme. There is no proposal to enhance the budget provision under PMKVY during this financial year.
In a written reply in the Lok Sabha today the Minister said, the NSDC has approved 39 industry led bodies called Sector Skill Councils (SSCs) to promote industry/employer participation out of which 29 SSCs are operational in various sectors like Agriculture, Automotive, Healthcare, Construction and Plumbing. Various kinds of training is imparted by NSDC for skill development across the Country. State-wise break-up of skill development training by NSDC for the period from 2011-12 to 2015-16 (upto 30.11.2015)
