New office bearers elected for CII Telangana

Hyderabad, March 20, 2016: ​​MR. NRUPENDER RAO, Chairman, Pennar Industries Ltd., has been elected as the Chairman of the CII Telangana for the year 2016 – 2017. Mr. V Rajanna, Vice President & Regional Head, Global Head – Technology Business Unit, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), will be the Vice Chairman. The New office bearers were elected by the CII Telangana State Council.

Prior to being elected as Chairman of CII Telangana, Mr. Rao was the Vice Chairman of CII Telangana and was an active member of CII Telangana State Council since its inception in 2014. He has a Master’s Degree from Purdue University in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research and an engineering graduate in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur. He has rich and diverse experience in various organizations such as National Cash Register, USA, Union Carbide India, Nagarjuna Group and the Pennar Group.

Mr. Rao is the National Award Winner for “Outstanding Entrepreneur”, by Council of State Industrial Development and Investment Corporations of India in 2013. He is also a recipient of the “Distinguished Alumnus Award” from IIT Kharagpur for the year 2011 and “Dr Nayudamma Gold Medal” from Government of Erstwhile Andhra Pradesh for his contribution to industrial development in Erstwhile Andhra Pradesh.

Mr. V Rajanna is currently the Vice President and the Global Head of the Technology Business Unit (BU) at TCS. Prior to being elected as Vice Chairman of CII Telangana, he was an active State Council member of CII who led the verticals of Higher Education, Skill Development and ICT.

Prior to his current role, Rajanna was heading the Telecom OEM Business Unit. Further, for over eight years now, Rajanna has been the Regional Head of TCS operations in Hyderabad, currently TCS’s fourth largest Global Delivery Centre (GDC). Prior to his current role, Rajanna was the General Manager (GM) Delivery and Operations for TCS’s Asia Pacific Region. He was also the Director of the Board of TCS Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, based out of Singapore, where TCS Asia Pacific is headquartered. Mr. Rajanna was the first General Manager (GM) of TCS-China. He was also the Head of TCS’s GDCs at Hangzhou and Shanghai.

Mr. Rajanna was the Regional Manager (RM) of TCS’s operations in Taiwan and successfully setup operations, built new business, forged strategic partnerships, and managed customer relationships. Rajanna was a part of several Indian business delegations that visited China and Taiwan and worked closely with the Indian Embassy to enrich bilateral trade. He has been the recipient of several prestigious awards as the “IT Professional of the Year” in 2007; Nayudamma Award in 2012 among others. He was also conferred the Greatest Corporate Leaders of India award in 2014 by World HRD Congress.
