New Delhi, August 15, 2016: The CII Karnataka organized open house session with Commissioners of Karnataka “Provident Fund/Labour/ESIC & Industrial Safety & Health” on 11 August 2016 at Hotel Chancery Pavilion, Bengaluru.

Increasing globalization has witnessed a rapid growth in competitive pressures which demands a suitable balance between competitiveness and labour protection. The Government faced a major challenge of revival along with legislative and structural changes for protecting the rights and interests of the workers. The Government has made significant and specific efforts to increase transparency in the system so as to enable the employees as well as employers to focus on the core issues of their business for creating a favourable environment for facilitating industrial promotion.

Objective of the session were

· Create awareness & capacity building of industry personnel to develop strategies for addressing their industry specific issues.

· Focus on problems and grievances which are being faced in day to day implementation and seek remedial measures from the learned faculty.

· Awareness on Critical issues of compliance, standards and certification like dealing with expatriate issues in Bangalore region.

· Ensure that the employers have at their disposal, a productive, well secured workforce, an essential ingredient for better productivity.

· Update Karnataka industry with the latest practices & management systems for safer and healthier work environment.

· Ensuring steady flow of benefits to the employees through these schemes and policies.

· To share statistical information of their performance, technological upgradation and improvements in their respective departments

Target Participants included

The programme was specially designed for CEOs, plant heads, consultants, heads and senior representatives from Personnel, IR, HR and Legal. This interaction would be relevant to all establishments who are responsible for implementation of EPF, Labour laws, Safety & Health norms including management of exempted EPF trusts, at the corporate and unit level. It had given an opportunity to participants to directly interact with the senior government officials.
