Over 2000 DU students participate in Color-a-thon

With an aim of empowering women and women voices 4 KM run was organised by the students

Delhi, March 21, 2016: Colorathon jointly organised by Roposo (fashion social network) and Ramjas College with the aim of raising and empowering women witnessed the participation of 2000 youngsters, college faculty, sponsors and associates.

The much awaited marathon was flagged off at 11 AM from Ramjas college and proceeded towards Daulat Ram College, SRCC, Faculty of Social Science, Faculty of Arts, Patel Chest, covering Miranda House, Vishwavidyalya metro station, Faculty of Science, St. Stephens College, Hindu College, and Delhi College of Economics on the go. Total distance of 4 kilometers was covered while reaching to its end point (Ramjas College). Almost 2000 people ran today to extend their support to Empowered Women of the modern day.

In one of the biggest ever initiatives by any Indian University, Om Vir Singh Bishnoi, DCP, Anti-Corruption Bureau took active part in the event and ran for empowering the voices of women.

Raising the bar of the Marathon Run, Priya Jaiswal and Yagyadeep Sharma (both) from Ramjas College emerged as the winners of the Marathon and were presented a token of appreciation and encouragement for winning the marathon ​ by Roposo.

Pranidhi Prabhat, Event and Marketing Head, Roposo was elated to see the young and energetic youth running for the noble initiative. He said, “I am happy to be a part of such a platform that certainly increases the confidence of individuals, and is a remarkable example of the power of youth in India. This Color Run is a testament to its ability to bring together masses from all walks of life in support of women.”

This initiative is part of the Women’s Month being observed at Roposo in the month of March, to celebrate women and empower them to achieve their professional as well personal goals of life. To this end, the company is also conducting several health, self defense, finance and leadership training workshops for its women employees this month.
