Panasonic eyes on 15 pc market share, to sell over 4 lakhs ACs in 2018-19

Chandigarh, April 21, 2018: Enthused with an increasing demand of its air conditioning products, Panasonic India has set an ambitious target of selling over four lakh Air Conditioners (ACs) during the 2018-19 fiscal and eyeing on grabbing around 15 per cent product market share in next three years, Gaurav Sah, Business Head, Air Conditioning Group of the company said here today.

Launching the all new ‘Air Purifying Invertor ACs’, Mr Sah said “during last fiscal we sold around 3.5 lakh ACs and with an addition of the new range of products our kitty we hope to sell over four lakhs ACs during the current fiscal.”

Reassuring the company’s commitment towards indoor air quality through its air conditioning products, he said the new range of inverter ACs in different variants from one to two tonnes, priced from Rs 39,000 to Rs 72,000 per unit, come with company’s patented ‘Nanoe’ technology which deactivates PM 2.5, Bacteria and Viruses giving up to 99 per cent clean air. Another feature these ACs have the ‘AEROWINGS’ which controls the direction of air flow and spread cool air in larger area and these are 34 per cent power efficient, he added.

To a question, he said ‘the North is an important market for the company especially the Punjab where per capita ACs ownership is best in the county. We will reinforce our presence in Punjab market to attain at least 15 per cent growth in the state during in FY 2018-19.”
