PM to hold a meeting of the High Level Committee on Manufacturing on 3rd July, 2013

    The High Level Committee on Manufacturing is headed by the Prime Minister which examines policy issues related to the manufacturing sector and reviews the implementation of the Manufacturing Policy. The HLCM comprises of the Ministers of Finance, Commerce & Industry, Deputy Chairman Planning Commission, Chairman Economic Advisory Council and the Principal Secretary to Prime Minister. The Chairman of the NMCC is the Member Convenor. The next meeting of the HLCM, under the Chairmanship of Prime Minister, is to be held on 3rd July, 2013. 2. The HLCM is to discuss the following: (i) Civilian aircraft: Setting up of a mission to develop and build transport aircraft in India. (ii) Alternative fuel based transport: electric, hybrid: To launch a pilot project for public transport and re-charging infrastructure. (iii) Advanced materials: Alloys and Composites: Creation of an SPV for development and manufacture of identified alloys and composites. (iv) Competitiveness strategy for Textiles Industry. (v) Growth strategy for Steel Industry. 3. Decision would be taken on the above at the meeting.
