New Delhi, February 20, 2017: The Society for Broadband Professionals (SCTE) hosted an intellectual seminar along with the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI) on February 10, 2017 in the Silver Jubilee edition of Convergence India 2017 Expo held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The seminar was organized to promote skill development in the country and to potentially certify more than ten thousand technical resources in the cable and broadband industry.
The session was addressed by Mr. NK Mohapatra, CEO, ESSCI declaring the joint initiative of ESSCI and SCTE India to promote skill development in the cable and broadband industry. Spreading awareness among the audience on Skill India ecosystem, Mr. Mohapatra talked about the ESSCI standards and certification for various Training Programmes in India. Thereafter, Mr. Yogendra Pal, Advisor, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting shared his views on DAS Scenario in India and the importance of training from the Government’s point of view. The session was further carried forward by Lt. Col. VC Khare, SCTE India Founder & Broadband Consultant, who envisaged the audience by throwing light on how SCTE India can contribute in the creation of accredited upskilling of wireline broadcast practices. To add more acknowledgment among the audience on skill development partnership with SCTE, Mr. Piyush Chakraborty, VP- Sales & Marketing, ESSCI, and Mr. Vikas Kapoor, Vice President, SCTE India, discussed the various courses /modules available through SCTE-ESSCI training and also narrated some SCTE success stories worldwide.
The event witnessed the presence of industry colleagues having an open house discussion with the session panelists. “Following this effort to provide skill enrichment and training, cable technicians, last mile cable operators and MSOs will transform themselves into skilled broadband technicians/engineers thereby transforming the customer experience of broadband, multi screen, ecommerce apart from enriching themselves and paving the way to make India; “A Digital India”.
