The production of small scale sector in Punjab was at Rs 62,971.24 crore during 2012-13, registering an increase of Rs 2,971.24 crore as compared to output of previous fiscal, the state government said today.
Giving details of small scale industrial production, Punjab Industry minister Madan Mohan Mittal said that the record production was achieved due to jump in production of various verticals including eatable goods, clothes, sports goods, auto parts, drugs and spare parts.
At present, more than 1.70 lakh small units are operating in the state, providing employment to over 10 lakh people.-Financial Express
