Hubballi, August 28, 2020: The effects of the COVID pandemic are growing with each passing day. The entire world is in survival mode during these times. Karnataka too faces a drastic rise in the number of COVID -19 positive individuals daily. Though the medical treatment is curing people, the emotional trauma of COVID, its impact on the body, and mind is overpowering.
Akshar Yoga conducted an 8-day program (18th Aug – 25th Aug) in support of COVID Patients in COVID Care Centers & SPYSS(Shri Patanjali Yoga Shikshana Samithi). The program was inaugurated on August 18th in the presence of Himalayan Siddha, Grand Master Akshar. Yoga as an ancient, traditional healing system can help those suffering from COVID to overcome these lasting physical and psychological effects. DD CLICS (Dharwad District’s Centre of Learning & Innovation for COVID Safety Solutions), in collaboration with Evolve Life Foundation, Akshar Yoga and SPYSS launched a Yoga & Wellness program.
Led by Grand Master Akshar with his team of senior yoga teachers, we will also be conducting Yoga session open for all from 26th Aug onwards. This will be streamed Live on DD CLICS Facebook page (https://i-invent.org/ddclics/), recorded videos of these sessions will also be made available.
Dignitaries at the launch were Deputy Commissioner of Dharwad District Shri. Nitesh Patil, Hubballi-Dharwad Muncipal Corporation Commissioner Shri. Suresh Itnal and Dharwad’s Assistant Commissioner Shri. N Mohammed Zubair & Mr. Yashpal Kshirsagar – Deputy Commissioner of Forests. Grand Master Akshar addressed the Hubballi-Dharwad community asking everyone to make use of these sessions and avail the benefits of yoga. Also present were frontline COVID Warriors (doctors, nurses, policemen & govt. officers). This program was conceptualized by Ottilie Anban Kumar & Sham Naragund, and Nokia.
Called ‘Yogi’s Training Capsules’, the program comprises of various healing mudras, immunity-building asanas, pranyama techniques to strengthen lung power and meditation to promote mental well-being. This training is being conducted to help COVID patients in COVID Care Centres, Doctors and frontline COVID Warriors. These special sessions are individually crafted to help different people, be it patients, the medical staff including the family members.
