Technology Centres in the country to provide technological support to MSMEs making them globally competitive says the MSME Minister

 Ambala 24th October 2013:Shri K H Muniyappa, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises laid the foundation stone for a new Technology Centre at Industrial Growth Centre, Saha(Haryana) here today. The proposed Project cost of the Technology Centre would be to the tune of Rs.100 crore, located in 10 acres of land which has been provided by the State Government of Haryana free of cost.

Speaking on the occasion the Minister for MSME said that the Government of Haryana has established a Growth Centre at Saha, which is about 10 km from Ambala. There are more than 3500 registered units operating from Ambala district, out of which majority are in engineering, steel fabrication and electrical sectors.

The Minister underlined that after setting up of MSME Technology Centre at Saha, more than 3500 units manufacturing Scientific Instruments, Glass wares, Electrical Appliances etc will get advantage in developing world class dies, tools, moulds, jigs, fixtures in addition to testing facilities and trained technical manpower. Therefore, the Centre will assist the units in improving their quality of end product and export. Due to setting up of this centre, MSME units of district Ambala will start developing their new products, proto types and other tooling locally as presently they are getting these services from outstations like Delhi, Chandigarh, Mumbai etc.

The Minister stated that the Technology Centre on completion and becoming operational will be of immense help to industries from not only in and around Saha, but from the Northern region of the country as well. Also, the youth shall find the training programmes to be conducted by this Technology Centre quite useful to enhance their employment potential.CCI Newwire
