Mumbai, December 28, 2015: There is no turning away from the fact that kids today are born in an age of technology. It is but inevitable that they are growing up in an environment of tremendous opportunity and information, leaving very little space for the “joy of discovery” and “the celebration of wonder” for both the child as well as for parents and caregivers. It is with this premise in mind, Dream Theatre conceptualized and created Beebop, India’s first home grown pre-school and infant brand. Beebop is a celebration of early childhood as much as it is of parenthood. The range of Beebop products includes toys, gift sets, sleep essentials and is now launching Publishing in partnership with HarperCollins, India.

The Beebop series of books bring alive a magical world where Beebop, the friendly bee takes Sarah, Jay, Zoya and Zubin on many marvelous adventures. Through the bottle-shaped tree, they enter a land where anything is possible and the only limit is your imagination! The books bring to light the element of wonder filled fantasies, make belief worlds and values of friendship, fearlessness and adventure. Beebop is a series of graded readers for three levels. The levels increase in complexity to allow for greatest success in ability and interest. The ratings take into consideration the following components: difficulty of vocabulary, sentence length, comprehension abilities, literary elements and subject matter. Each level consists of four story books and four accompanying activity books.

Manasi Subramaniam, who acquired and edited the book at HarperCollins said, ‘The Beebop books are fun, they’re funny, they’re charmingly written and beautifully illustrated. I’m so thrilled that Harper Kids is publishing a homegrown graded-reader programme: not only do the stories fit into a larger narrative arc, they are set to match the child’s learning curve at a slightly accelerated level. So as the stories continue and the characters grow, the language too alters in vocabulary and complexity. The series has given us a lot of joy.’

‘We are delighted to partner with Dream Theatre to bring this wonderful series of books for children. We hope Beebop will soon find a place on every child’s heart and bookshelf’, said V.K Karthika, publisher and chief editor at HarperCollins Publishers India.

Jiggy George, Founder and CEO, Dream Theatre says, “We are delighted to have Dream Theatre partner on BEEBOP with Harper Collins. It gives me immense pleasure to see our characters enter the lives and imaginations of children across our country and eventually we hope across the world through the wonderful medium of books!
