Hyderabad, August 23, 2014 – Seeking a job in medium and small enterprises in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and other States will soon be a ‘missed call’ away.

Hyderabad-based placement and training firm TMI is set to launch a mobile-based recruitment solution for the MSME sector through tie-ups with mobile operator IDEA Cellular and Hinduja Global Solutions.

Through the service, job seekers, including graduates, engineers, ITI and diploma holders can register their bio-data through a ‘missed call’, which will be followed by a match-making by TMI with its data on the requirements of the MSME sector.

IDEA subscribers can give a missed call to TMI’s central office, which will prepare the job seekers’ profile free of cost.

Expansion plans

It will be launching the service in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh this month, which will be followed by other States such as Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra, which are major MSME hubs, next year. “The MSME sector today accounts for almost 90 per cent of the jobs in India. Our survey has shown that in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh alone over two million MSME units are looking for fresh talent, while 1.5 million youth are looking for job opportunities,” T Muralidharan, Executive Chairman, said. A Crisil study last fiscal indicated that employment intensity in service sector MSMEs was more than double than in the manufacturing sector. On an average, the service MSME sector employed 168 people per unit, as compared to 80 persons in the manufacturing segment.

While TMI will be leveraging on the 128 million subscriber base of IDEA Cellular through the tie-up, its partnership with Hinduja Global will help it generate a data base on the requirements of the MSME sector.

“Our revenue model is based on a membership fee and recruitment fee from the MSMEs. We plan to have 1,500-2,000 MSME on our clients list in the first year and scale it up to 12,000 by the third year,” Muralidharan said. The firm sees significant placement opportunities in the retail, healthcare, auto and financial services sector. Business Line
